Dunia Dialogues Mamas Who Move the World
Dunia Dialogues is a community dialogue series centering motherhood, identity, and diaspora leadership in Columbus. We host intimate gatherings that uplift Black and Brown immigrant women — creating space for belonging, storytelling, and leadership.Your support helps us honor our participants with fair compensation for their time, wisdom, and lived experience. Too often, immigrant women of color are asked to share their voices without recognition — we are changing that.
My Mission
As a bi-racial immigrant woman, I know what it feels like to be asked to give — to speak, to serve, to volunteer — without being seen, honored, or compensated. For years, my labor, my voice, and my story were taken for granted. Dunia Dialogues was born out of a deep desire to change that. My mission is to create a space where Black and brown immigrant women are not only celebrated, but paid fairly for the wisdom, artistry, and leadership they bring. Because our stories matter. Our voices shape communities. And our labor deserves dignity.
We believe that when mothers move, the world moves with them.
Our Inaugural Gathering
On August 16, 2025, we launched Dunia Dialogues: Mamas Who Move the World at ABA Gallery in downtown Columbus.Mothers, daughters, and sisters of the diaspora came together for an afternoon of storytelling, poetry, movement, and dialogue. We shared love, vision, and purpose — and began building a cultural leadership platform that will grow season by season.Why it matters:
Representation: Diaspora mothers rarely see their leadership recognized. Dunia Dialogues changes that.
Leadership development: These gatherings seed pathways for women to grow as cultural and civic leaders.
Community trust: By convening across cultures, we foster belonging and connection that strengthens Columbus.
